A few 4th grade students have expressed interest in getting our garden "re-alived," so we have met a few times to figure out the steps we need to take.
Today, 9 students came out to prepare two garden beds for planting. We removed old growth and some living weeds. We discussed the need for a clean bed and a safe place for plants to grow - TVCS has a large population of squirrels living near our garden :( We have some chicken wire in place to secure the two beds we are focused on. I hope it will do the trick!
I am excited to work with these kiddos and get our hands dirty! We'll be out there again tomorrow to get some good topsoil worked into the beds.
