GENERAL MEETING on WEDNESDAY, JAN. 25TH at 6:30 PM in the MPR.

History of the School

Temecula Valley Charter School originated in 1994. The charter was founded by a group of parents who wanted something more for their children. Some of the underlying tenets were Parental Participation, Multi-Age, Foreign Language, and Hands-On learning in a small school/family friendly setting. Temecula Valley Charter School is the oldest charter school in Riverside County and the 63rd established charter in the state. TVCS was originally called Temecula Learning Center.

Although times have changed and the school has evolved and grown, a number of the original founding families have remained involved with the school: Joanne Harned, a founding parent, is currently a math instructional aide in the middle school. Lynne Willis, a founding parent, was a Board of Directors member serving most recently from 2014 to summer of 2016. Current Board of Directors member, Susan Dickson, was the first teacher hired. Our current art teacher, Shelly Bednar, was a highly involved parent volunteer in the early years as her own children attended the school. We currently have a young student attending whose father is an alumnus.

Our history is rich and our future is bright. We're glad you are a part of it!
